Expulsion of the Mongol/Tatar army
The expulsion of the Tatar or Mongolian army by Raden Wijaya occurred in 1293 AD. This event cannot be separated from the end of the Singasari Kingdom and the intervention of the Chinese Empire in the Southeast Asian region, especially the Archipelago. This power struggle that ended in the expulsion of the Tatar army was an important event not only in the history of Surabaya, but also in Indonesia because it was one of the moments that marked the beginning of the founding of the largest empire in the archipelago, namely Majapahit.
