Sedekah Bumi (Indonesian Thanksgiving) is a series of traditional ceremonies carried out by the community as gratitude for the abundant harvest. Local people believe that SedekahBumi can prevent disasters that harm the surrounding (Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Kota 2002).
